Hi! I am Suz and my son Ace was born in the middle of the COVID Pandemic. Being a new mom in the midst of a pandemic can be pretty lonely and difficult. Being a new baby in the midst of a pandemic can be difficult too – hard to recognize faces and mimic expressions when you’re stuck at home and everyone is wearing a mask in the event you do get out of the house.
Before Ace arrived I was a vegetarian who carried a reusable straw everywhere and went to yoga on Sundays. I’m not an environmental vigilante out to save the world, I just want to do my part and be at least conscious about taking care of my body. I knew when Ace arrived I wanted to carry the same sentiment over with him. I bought glass baby bottles online secondhand and some cloth diapers from someone who had already decided it was too much work. I’ve never been a mom before so it was all a blank slate.
I am working on my MBA in Marketing and Ace’s bedtime stories are usually financial reports, sample business plans, and textbooks. I had tickets to Rome for my maternity shoot prior to COVID. My wish for Ace as he grows up is to learn as much as he can and to explore the world. I want him to know that he never needs to have all the answers, just know where to find them.
